Sewing is Fun

Here are some pictures of the brown dress I made, I wore it to church last Sunday with a brown sweater. It doesn't photograph very well, it looks a lot better in person. I will post the other dresses and skirts that I've made as I wear them and take pictures of them. Hopefully the weather stays nice so that I can keep wearing them! I made the skirt below yesterday, my camera isn't very good so I think the next time I photograph the clothes I make I will have to do so in natural light. This month I've made three dresses and four skirts, I plan on making another skirt tomorrow! I want to get as much sewing in as possible before I start school on the 19th! Then I have to focus on that instead of on my sewing. : (
Happy Sewing!

Please, Pass the Pigs!

One of my most favorite games is Pass the Pigs! My friend Shawnee introduced it to me over a year ago and I've been obsessed with it since. Whenever I go over to her house it"s the only game I want to play. The rules are simple, you have two pigs and you roll them like dice, the pigs have a dot on one side of their body, depending on how they land determines how many points you get. The point of the game is to get to 100 points, you can roll however many times you want when it is your turn, but if you roll a Pig Out (one dot facing up, one dot facing out) you loose all the points you earned in that round.
If you roll and the pigs are touching each other in any way it's called Oinker and you loose your total points and reset back to ZERO! IF (and I've never seen this happen) the pigs land Piggyback...
Then you are out of the game, because this is "obscene" and is no way for pigs to behave ha ha. The game is fun because people get so cocky when they are rolling and, like all games, you usually target one person. So, when they get a Pig Out or an Oinker you get SO excited! As you can see from the pictures above of Danny and I at Shawnee's playing the game, it's the most fun game in the world! I think it should be everyone's favorite game, in fact in 2010 I am going to make it my own personal goal to get EVERYONE to be in love with Pass the Pigs!

Valentine's Day Wreath!

I've made a Valentine's Day wreath, I am very proud of it. It is one of my first 2010 projects. I love making wreaths, I made a Halloween wreath, Thanksgiving wreath, and a Christmas wreath in 2009. I think this Valentine's day wreath is my best one so far! I can't wait to make another one like it for Spring/Easter. I will try and post pictures of the dresses and skirts I made this week as I wear them. Hopefully this weekend I can get a couple of pictures up. Sewing and crafting are my favorite right now. Danny has gotten into shotgun shooting and wood carving so we are falling into our stereotypical roles nicely ha ha. I can't help that I love sewing and making crafts, they are fun! Call me if you want to have a sewing party!

New Year: 2010

Danny and I rang in the new year at my house watching Twilight Zone's and drinking sparkling cider, it was perfect! I've decided that I will call this year TWENTY TEN and not TWO THOUSAND AND TEN. The correct way to say it is TWENTY TEN, so it makes me feel superior to say it the right way, if you say two thousand and ten I will probably silently judge you, (since that is not one of my 2010 resolutions). Well, I figured I would do a post about my 2010 new year's resolutions! I have a little bit of a list, I figure the more I have the more likely it will be that I will accomplish at least one of them! So, here it goes.
  1. Read my scriptures more!
  2. Do some sort of cardio activity (I've already signed up for a twice a week spinning class so I think this one will be accomplished)
  3. Blog more, I go in and out of the habit, mainly because I run out of things to blog about.
  4. Sew and craft more, I have been in a sewing frenzy! I've made two skirts and two dresses and a valentines day wreath in the past 5 days. So, I am off to a good start.
  5. This is the most important resolution, GROW OUT MY BANGS!! This is going to be a challenge, I always give in and chop them off, but I must be strong this year! I must grow them out and refuse the urge to trim! I am sure that once they get long enough I will develop a complex about my big forehead and chop them off again, but I must get to the point where I can put my fringe behind my ears! 2010 is the year, I can feel it.
  6. And last, but not least get to bed earlier so that I don't sleep in until 12pm and lose the entire day!
Okay those are my resolutions, I know they are lame, and probably not very deep/life altering, but I am a pretty perfect person already, so I don't have much to work on. JUST kidding! I just like to make goals that I know are possible to keep, and these goals are the goals that I need at this moment. They are simple and will help me be a little bit better.
I'm so excited for 2010!
