Six Month Anniversary

On July 11, 2013 Danny and I celebrated our six month anniversary! Time has been flying by, I can't believe we are already at six months! We decided to celebrate by eating at the Carthay Circle restaurant at California Adventure and then seeing the World of Color. We have had Disneyland passes for four years and have yet to see the World of Color! The Carthay Circle restaurant has a great package that comes with a three course meal and then tickets to go see The World of Color for $59 per person (pass discounts can be applied too so, you can get 10-15% off depending on your pass). They reserve a special spot for you right in front of the ferris wheel, best seats in the house. It is definitely worth it. We highly recommend it! We had so much fun, and I look forward to many, many, many more months together.

Fourth of July!

I LOVE the Fourth of July so much! I love the sun, I love hot dogs, and I LOVE fireworks! This year we celebrated a day early by going to Disneyland and seeing their Fourth of July firework show! Then the next day we went over to my moms and went swimming, had a BBQ, and then came back to our place to watch the firework show they put on down the street at the college and to do some sparklers! This year I ordered the fancy sparklers people get for weddings, I am sick of the ones they sell at the stands. They are all smoke and no sparkle! It was by far one of my most FAVORITE Fourth of July's I've ever had. I will say, however, that the two years we went to Big Bear for the Fourth of July still hold the "Best Firework Show" title! That show is incredible! Everyone must see it, especially from the water. The reflection of the fireworks against the lake is a sight to be seen!

This has nothing to do with the 4th, but the topiaries looked so beautiful that day.
Disney's 4th of July firework show is pretty good!
The goods. Sparklers and Giant Balloons. The party was coming together.
Jill and I being festive and getting some sun!
Joey and Jill came over and they brought these rafts. I sat in them all day! And the whole weekend :)
It was packed at the stadium!
There was a guy that lived behind the stadium that spent a lot of money on really amazing fireworks. He lit a bunch during the Star Spangled Banner, and it was AMAZING! I need to be his friend.
Danny got creative with his photography skills during the firework show.
Time to play with sparklers!!
Note to self: Don't dot the "i's" it makes it too messy!

I spent the week of Fourth of July making Fourth of July outfits. Here you see fabric for three shirts and a dress. I wore the red stripe on Tuesday, Blue stripe on Wednesday to Disneyland, and the Red and White Chevron on the 4th. I was very festive all week!!

Father's Day at the Getty

Everyone thought it was weird that we took a picture in front of this statue, but my dad LOVES this artist,  Rene Magritte, and he wanted to take a picture here. So we took a picture here. It's art, and I didn't think anything of it!

I grew up going to museums and watching Woody Allen movies.

Both of those are thanks to my dad. My dad is an architect, he is a very talented artist and a man of incredible taste. He loves going to museums. Any kind of museum. I think he loves them mainly because they tend to be beautiful buildings.

When I was younger my dad took me on a 24 hour trip to New York City, I was 18 and stupid. I wanted to shop! He wanted to look at all the buildings and go to museums. Since he loves me and has always given me my way (hence why I am kind of brat :) We went shopping and ice-skating at Rockefeller Center. I regret it! (We also went to the top of the Empire State Building, which I do not regret) When we went to New York there weren't any H&M's in California yet, so I just HAD to pop in and go shopping, now they are everywhere but there is still no Guggenheim or MET here. I hope one day I can go back to New York with my papa and he can take me to all the spots he wants to go. I would love those spots so much more than any store New York City could offer me.

Here is a picture from our trip ...

Every year for Father's Day we ask my dad where he wants to go, every year he wants to go to a museum. This year it was the Getty. I love him so much, he has taught me more than he will ever know. He is such a wonderful example to me on how to love, how to nurture, and how to tell a joke :) He sacrificed everything for his children, including leaving his entire family and life in Argentina to come over here and strive for a better life for us. He has never let us want for anything, even if he didn't have the money he would say, "todo llega." Translated to, "everything arrives." He has given us everything, and I hope to be able to do the same for my child (or cat) one day. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have a dad like him. I love you Jorge!

It really is the most beautiful building.
The views are amazing.

We took the architecture tour while we were there because my dad really wanted to do that, then we went to the Overdrive Exhibit (which was amazing, I highly recommend it), but I snuck away for a few minutes to check out the art. I was dying to see the Van Gogh's and Monet's.

My favorite part. I coordinated my outfit specifically for this. I love Van Gogh.

Phoebe's Birthday

Little Phoebe!! She's two and unstoppable!

My niece Phoebe turned two this year! I used that as an excuse to make another balloon!
It was a big hit, although it did make the girls go crazy! They just ran around the house with it, Danny said it was too dangerous. I said it was too cute, and next time I shall make three.

I chose to go from hot pink to peach with this balloon. I LOVED it.

Lyla and the balloon. She always has the cutest poses.

Julie's Graduation!

My mama has no more children in high school! She said she would be sad if high school graduations weren't so boring. My sister graduated in June 2013 from Brea Olinda High School, my alma mater! The Wildcats, Green and Gold! She was so happy and looked so beautiful.

My beautiful sister and parents!
The graduate!!!

I, of course, made her a balloon! I have started making the tassels a bit differently, the way I was making them before caused the balloon to be too weighed down. So, I took some weight off without removing the volume. I am really happy with the result.

San Diego Zoo Trip 2013

Danny's sister Jessica moved down to San Diego a few years ago, we really miss her being around, but we also secretly love it because we can go visit her and then go to the San Diego Zoo!!! Danny likes to go to the Zoo when it's a bit chilly, that way the animals are more active. We went on a good day, it wasn't too cold or too hot and we got to see a lot of animals.

One of my favorite things about the San Diego Zoo are the sky buckets!!!!! I love the view you get when you're up there. It's so beautiful and I love that old building that was built for the Panama-California Exhibition of 1915 (I have no idea what it's called, but it is a beautiful building). From what I understand that building was built and the animals were brought over for the Panama-California Exhibition, and then they were just left there and that's how the Zoo was created. I could be 100% wrong, so don't quote me.
Jessica and I checking out the giraffes! We wore the same sunglasses, so you know we both have amazing taste : )
The lady told us that three of the tortoises they have at the San Diego Zoo are from the original Panama-California Exposition!
I really wanted to see/hear the Lion roar, or even just see him with his eyes open! They're always asleep, those darn cats.
The sky buckets!!!!

Jessica took this picture of us on the sky buckets.

We LOVE the Zoo, and we can't wait to go back once it gets cold again!!
