All In One

I feel like since it is the last day of the year I should blog about all the stuff I didn't get to blog about. This tends to happen to me with my journals too, I find my journal and go "wow I haven't written in this thing in about 8 months, I have a lot of catching up to do." So I take a night and fill my journal in on everything that has happened up to that point. I think that being a better blogger should be one of my new years resolutions, but we will leave those up to the next post! Ok so here we go, I will blog about some of my favorite things of the year that I haven't blogged about yet! (The rest of the things I will blog about when I have nothing to blog about ha ha. My life isn't interesting so I have to save my stories so it seems like I update my blog often with cool things that I do, but really I just don't blog for 8 months and then blog about the stuff I did in that time. Only this time my hair is darker so you can tell that the stuff that I am blogging about is old news. Whoops.)

One of my most favorite experiences of 2009 had to have been the American College Dance Festival in Akron, Ohio. I was lucky enough to get chosen to go the ACDFA in March 2009. It was one of the best experiences of my life, I learned so much about myself and about dance. I learned so many different techniques in the short time I was there. I learned about the Horton technique (which is my all time favorite right now) I learned Jazz Disco, which was the most fun! I got to do Fosse routines which were so much fun, his movement was so interesting. I pretty much got to do everything! We were taking 3 to 4 dance classes a day, seeing concerts that night and then we had guest judges who would critique the movement after the concert. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I grew so much, not only with my movement and technique, but I also grew more patient, because when you are traveling with 27 different people there is bound to be drama. So I had to learn how to bite my tongue and be understanding real quick! It was really nice however being able to share that experiences with some of your closest friends! We all grew so much closer and share something that not that many people can experience. I feel very blessed to be able to have been a part of that.
Here we are landing in Cleveland OHio and loading up 9 people (WITH Luggage) into a van.
We had a fancy dinner overlooking one of the lakes the second night we were there. This is a picture of me and my girl friends on that trip.
This is a picture of my best friend Shawnee, me, and my roommates! I had the best roommates on the trip! Jamie and Risa are the nicest people I haven ever met, Jamie took care of us the whole time. When I got home I missed them the first couple nights because they were so much fun to bunk with!
This is the Original Four! Gilbert, Shawnee, Manny and Me. These are my bestest friends. I miss them during winter and summer break because we all have to work and can hardly see each other on break!
Here we are at Jazz Disco (I picked up some pretty good moves, so if anyone ever wants to learn the Hustle, give me a call ha ha)
The girls
YAY ACDFA 09!

I turned 23 this year! I had a really fun birthday party. I haven't had a big birthday party in a while, but this year my friend Erika let me use her house to throw a little birthday bash! Danny always spoils me on my birthdays! I am probably the luckiest girl in the world, he helped me out so much with this birthday party. I love him more than I love my OPI Nail Polish collection. All my closest friends and family were at my party! It was so exciting for me. I had an amazing birthday party and look forward to 23!
Me blowing out my candles! Jill made me a really yummy cake! She is such a good baker, I always love her cakes
Me and my cousins. They are beautiful

Best Birthday Ever

After my birthday came Halloween! I love Halloween! It is also one of Danny's favorite holidays. Danny really enjoys carving pumpkins and we carved SOO many this year! I hope 2010 Halloween can be just as good as 2009 Halloween!

All our pumpkins!
I carved the witch (and the BOO! Danny carved the rest)
This year Danny and I went old school Halloween and dresesd up as something that we probably would've dressed up as when we were 5. A ballerina and a ghost.

The last thing I will blog about is Christmas 2009. Danny and I LOVE Christmas, and we love to do all the Christmas stuff, we go see the Newport Beach Boat Parade, we drive around and look at Christmas lights at least once a week and I take Danny to the Nutcracker and he takes me to see A Christmas Carol at the South Coast Repertory. This year we added a new tradition, going to see The Grinch Musical. It was lame, don't go see it unless you get super cheap tickets! The set was boring and most of the songs were annoying. It is the Grinch story told through an old Max that is leaving the Grinch. He is reminiscing about the Christmas where him and the Grinch stole Christmas. It was stupid, Danny and I both fell asleep during the musical. Save your cash, buy more presents ha ha.

Here I am at the Pantages (Danny hates taking pictures, I don't want everyone to think I am obsessed with myself, but Danny won't even take pictures with me. I had to force him to take the one below with the Christmas Tree. I think it was one of my Christmas presents ha ha

"When I Was Very Young"

(Above: My dad and me in Mar Del Plata).
Whenever I go somewhere with my dad and it comes time to pay I know exactly what he is going to say when the cashier asks him to see his drivers license. He is going to take it out and say "When I was very young," then he shows them his drivers license with a picture of him with dark black hair with no canas and a slender face. He is more salt and pepper now, very George Clooney. I always laugh, it's always funny. Maybe because the cashier always laughs (However they are probably being nice). When I was young it used to bug me that my dad would tell the same jokes over and over again, but now that I am older I think they are funny. Plus those people have never heard those jokes so, its new to them. Well I started thinking about when I was "very young," and how cute I was. Danny says that it's not often that you hear people rave about how cute they were as little kids, but i assured him that it's probably because there are not that many people that were AS cute as me when they were young, and if there were more people that were as cute as I was when they were little, then they would talk about it all the time. Its perfectly normal. There are not that many pictures of me when I was little, I think most of them are still in Argentina, but I found a couple of ones around the house.

Messi

A few months ago my dad's cat, Martina, had kittens. She had five and three survived. Two black kittens with white marks and one grey and black striped kitten. I took the grey and black striped kitten, his name is Messi. He is the best cat I've ever had. He is not as pretty as Buttons, but he is way nicer than Jimmy. I had originally named him Guillermo, and called him Guille, but when he came to live with me I realized that Guille didn't fit his nature at all. So I changed his name from two reasons.
1. He makes a mess! And 2. He always plays with his cat food as if it were a soccer ball! Just like Lionel Messi (the Argentine futbol player)
He dribbles it around the floor and then shoots it under the refrigerator, it is very cute! He loves to nap and I always find him in the funniest places.
(Above picture) I don't even know how he got under that rug! He is crazy!
(Below Picture) That is a plastic water bottle case, I don't even know how he got in there either! I went to go grab a water bottle and felt fur, then I ran for my camera.
He loves Danny the best. Whenever Danny comes over he meows and runs to the door. If Danny every falls asleep (which he does often, sometimes I think Danny is part cat because he is always napping!) Messi will come and nap with him!
(Don't tell Danny I posted that picture! I tried to make it as small as I could. It is so cute that I had to put it up). Messi is the cutest cat on earth! He is even sitting next to me right now, I hope that he always stays small! They really need to breed a dwarf cat, like dwarf bunnies! Oh kittens, you are so cute!

The Sewing Party: Part I

I got a sewi
ng machine for my birthday and I haven't put it down since! When my friend Mary came into town we decided to have a sewing party! So today we went to the fabric store and picked up some supplies and spent the whole day sewing. I took a sewing class and learned how to make some pretty cute things, so I told Mary I would teach her how to make the skirt that I learned how to make. By the end of the day we both had brand new skirts! I can't wait to wear it on Sunday! We plan on continuing the sewing party on Wednesday to make another skirt and a bag and then we're going to LA on Saturday to pick up some more fabric to have another sewing party before she leaves. I can't wait to pick up new fabric! I have one piece left that I will probably use to make ANOTHER skirt tomorrow. The main reason why I took that sewing class was to learn how to make a skirt that I can make in all types of fabric so that I can have cute stuff to wear to church on Sundays. I think in LA I will pick up some more cotton fabric and some stretch knits to make some dresses! Sewing is my new favorite! On Thursday McCall's patterns are on sale for $0.99! Time to stock up!

Here is a picture of the first skirt I made, I didn't style it that well in that picture, since that picture was taken I have gotten much cuter belts. On Sunday I wore it with a brown and cream striped belt with a leather front, a white top, and a mustard sweater, MUCH cuter ha ha. I just feel like I have to tell you that so you know that it really is a cute skirt, even though the picture doesn't do it justice.

I Got Tagged Almost a Year Ago and Just Realized It...

OK so I just got a laptop and I don't really go on that many websites online, so once I went to
1.) Anthropologie
2.) Facebook
I ran out of things to do on my brand new shiny laptop that I LOVE! But then I remembered that I had a blog! So I went on my blog, but I didn't really have much to blog about, so I went on other peoples blogs. I went to Jill's and was reading through posts and found that she tagged me on one of them to do this fun thing where you go to your pictures, go to the 6th file then pick the 6th picture and blog about. ALAS! Something to blog about. Thank you Jill! So I did it. Only I just got this computer, I only have one file ha ha so I picked the 6th picture on my one little file and got the picture above.
This picture was taken at Soup Plantation. I am working on getting my Pilate's certification and I had missed some days of my program due to the HORRIBLE flu that went around this season, so I had to make up some days by attending a fundraiser for my instructor. For every person that ate (and got a drink...very picky) at Soup Plantation I made up a day. Danny's dad was in town the day of the fundraiser so we made a night of it. Thankfully Jill and Steve and their gorgeous kids came, which gave me two adults, Jenny, Jessica, Danny, Gaskell Dad, and myself gave me seven! I needed 6 make ups so I was cleared and got an A! All thanks to the Gaskell clan!
The picture above was the picture that I had to take in order to prove that I went.
I am now supposed to tag six people to do the same thing (go to your pictures, find your 6th file, blog about the 6th picture in that file), but I don't think six people read my blog, so if you read this, DO IT!
